Maintenance Supervisor
Job function: Plans, directs, and coordinates all center facility maintenance and capital improvement projects including the monitoring and coordination of CTST projects.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides supervision, training, assessments, and leadership for assigned staff
• Supervises and performs various skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings and equipment
• Maintains an adequate spare parts and tool inventory to properly support the facility
• Develops, implements and monitors the center preventative maintenance program and energy conservation program
• Schedules staff for the prompt, effective and efficient maintenance of grounds and buildings
• Monitors and administers a departmental budget and works within budgetary constraints
• Performs routine inspections of the facilities to ensure that the appropriate preventative maintenance is performed where necessary
• Maintains an effective work order system, ensures that all work orders are completed on time, according to quality standards and within budgetary constraints
• May prepare bid requests for subcontracts for repair and, or service
• Plans, organizes, and controls the use of overtime and on-call staff to ensure compliance with center and ETR policy and procedures

Skills and Competencies:
• Ability to design, develop and implement facility construction and rehabilitation projects
• Demonstrated working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, building maintenance and construction fields
• Knowledge of federal procurement regulations and subcontracting procedures
• Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Demonstrated knowledge of management practices and principals
• Ability to lead and support a team
• Ability to understand, control, and track direct spending and labor budgets
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in the use of personal computer and knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Educational Requirements and Experiences:
• High School Diploma, or GED
• Five years of extensive experience in electrical, heating, refrigeration, mechanics, plumbing, and carpentry
• One year experience in a management role
• Certification desired
• Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License with a clean driving record
